The Retreat at Fredericksburg features four ÖÖD Mirror Houses: two Extended and two Signature models. Three houses feature private, wood-fired hot tubs, and one, The Perseus Mirror House, offers a luxurious private sauna for the ultimate relaxation experience.
This marks an exciting evolution for The Retreat at Fredericksburg, which began with distinctive geodesic domes and now elevates its offerings with ÖÖD’s award-winning mirrored cabins. Blending luxury with the beauty of nature, each Mirror House reflects the surrounding landscape, creating an immersive escape while maintaining a sense of seclusion and privacy.
Owned and operated by Vanessa and Luke, this stunning Hill Country property spans 33 acres of pecan groves, a wet-weather creek, and vineyard views, offering guests a serene getaway just five minutes from the heart of Texas Wine Country.

From the moment we first stepped onto this land, we knew it had a magic that needed to be shared. The Mirror Houses are a natural next step in that vision, design-forward yet unobtrusive, they let the Hill Country’s beauty take centre stage. We wanted to create a place where guests could disconnect from the chaos of daily life, reconnect with loved ones, and make memories under Fredericksburg’s incredible dark skies.

A Vision Born from Experience and Expansion
Vanessa and Luke began their hospitality journey in Scottsdale, Arizona, where they built and managed high-end vacation rentals. Their move to Fredericksburg was fueled by a desire for a slower pace of life and a business that reflected their passion for hospitality and the outdoors. Starting with The Villa and later introducing domes, the couple carefully studied guest preferences before adding ÖÖD Mirror Houses—a unique design that blends seamlessly into the Hill Country terrain.
The Retreat’s location offers unparalleled tranquillity while remaining close to Fredericksburg’s vibrant restaurants, wineries, and shops. Guests arrive via a private road flanked by vineyards and Texas Longhorns, setting the tone for a peaceful escape under Texas’ dark skies.

Each house also includes a private outdoor deck with lounge seating, a propane fire pit, grill, hammock or custom stargazing net, outdoor shower, and vineyard views. Guests can choose from curated packages, including mobile massage services, private yoga sessions, and romantic setups featuring champagne, flowers, and chocolates.

Looking ahead, The Retreat plans to expand offerings with guided birdwatching tours and evening astronomy experiences, connecting guests with the diverse local wildlife and constellations that inspired the Mirror Houses’ names.
